Second Year Beekeeping Course for 2015 Printable Version With Walt Fitzgerald
Recommended for beekeepers in their second or third year and others who have interest in continued fellowship and inquiry.
Course will address student’s own apiaries with the goal of answering the many questions that are often asked too late that boil down to - “Well I established a colony and prepared it for winter so NOW WHAT?
Specific student questions and many of the questions that come up year after year will be addressed.
Course will be paced using the bees life cycle as it relates to the apiary yearly calendar. Many more general topics and hive management practices aimed at maintaining a maintaining a nearly self sufficient apiary will be covered with necessary equipment and its use defined.
Classes will be held in the evening in the Skippack 4-H Center. The scheduled dates below do not interfere with other MCBA meetings.
Please Note: This program is intended to be a classroom program, but if you plan to have any interaction with the
4-H Hives, a veil is required.
