2009 Beginners Beekeeping Course
Are you interested in raising honey bees but are a little nervous about getting started? Have you just started raising bees and are interested in learning modern management techniques? Perhaps you have been raising honey bees for a few years and just want some refresher techniques. Or, maybe you have questions about what your hive is doing. For the ninth year, the Montgomery County Beginners Beekeeping Course offers classes that are timely to your seasonal beekeeping needs. The 2009 course continues a tradition of hands-on beekeeping at the Montgomery County
(Skippack) 4-H Center Apiary!

How do I sign up?
Q: When?
A:
Classes are usually held on the last Tuesday of each month from February to September; exceptions are the June and July classes (4th Monday) and the special bee package class on Sat, Mar 28.
Hands-on activities in the apiary start at 6:00pm.
Please bring a face veil.
Classroom activities start at 7:00pm.

Montgomery County 4-H Center, 1015 Bridge Rd (Rte 113), Skippack, PA 19426.
Q: What if I miss a class?
A:
The course does not need to be taken in its entirety. You can start midyear or attend individual sessions. The 6:00pm activity in the apiary is optional – if you cannot attend, just come for the classroom portion at 7:00pm.
Q: What is the cost?
A:
The cost for the course is $80.00 per individual or $110.00 per household for the year. The fee includes a beekeeping book, 2009 membership in both MCBA and PSBA, eight (8) classes and one (individual) or two (household) tickets to the MCBA fall banquet.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A:
Bring a face veil. Bring pen and paper for notes. Bring your questions and curiosity!
