"Sweet as Honey, Busy as Bees."
4-H Beekeeping Club
Recycle to support Montgomery County 4-H Center! There is a recycling dumpster at the 4-H center that generates revenue to support the Skippack facility. Start recycling now, do something for the environment and drop it off when you drive by or attend a meeting.

Montgomery County 4-H Beekeeping Club
MCBA is sponsoring a 4-H Beekeeping Club. All kids ages 8 to 18 as of January 1, 2009 are eligible to join. Owning hives is not necessary, interested kids who cannot own their hives can have access to the hives at the 4-H Center.
Join us for fun and educational activities. Kickoff meeting is 6:00pm Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Skippack 4-H Center. Club meetings are held at the same times and dates as the Beginner's Beekeeping Meetings. See the
4-H Calendar and Meeting Agenda.

4-H Fair a Success
The 2008 Montgomery County 4-H Fair was bigger and better than ever this year. Held August 7-9, attendance was high with a lot of talent in all areas of textiles, animal husbandry and showmanship.
There was a lot of buzz around the observation hive, staffed with volunteer members of the 4-H Beekeepers to keep everyone informed about bees. There was a lot of interest from visitors on beekeeping and a number that indicated they would want to participate in next year's New Beekeeper's Club -- WELCOME! The public also commonly asked about the devastating effects of CCD and enjoyed the sweet fruits of the bees' labor by consuming lots of honey stix!
4-H Funding Reduced
Both Montgomery and Bucks County 4-H Funding was cut this year, greatly affecting the available funding for youth programs this year. Read the full story, as written in the Intelligencer.
